SOME OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL ACHIEVEMENTS 2021-2024 IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COMMUNITY

  1. Delivered all Village Council responsibilities within budget for three years running. 

  2. Our team has stayed within budget despite funding other authorities as below.

  3. We have also part funded Tandridge Council for repairs of Rec. Play equipment.

  4. Part funded Surrey Highways for resurfacing of High Street pavements.

  5. Funded Tandridge Council for new Rec. Play area decking.

  6. Funded Tandridge Council for additional street cleaning during high leaf fall to prevent gulley blockages and flooding.

  7. Funded Tandridge Council for additional street bin collections.

  8. Disabled space on high street submitted for parking review solution.

  9. Reported Godstone Road potholes keeping residents awake at night

  10. Part funded VAS signs to improve local road safety

  11. Installed 19 new litter bins AND commissioned additional collection.

  12. Litter picking campaigns.

  13. Pressure on Surrey Highways on crossroads outside the school

  14. Future plans to improve the junction at Whyteleafe South station.

  15. Village Council adoption of Whyteleafe Stations to make them more welcoming and pretty with plants

  16. Working with Govia Thameslink Rail to install new signs.

  17. Installation of  new shelters  and seats on both platforms.

  18. Repair of steps on bridge at Whyteleafe South.

  19. Commemoration of  Remembrance Day Village Council put up 190 large Poppies around Whyteleafe Village.

  20. Laid wreaths at St. Luke’s cemetery on behalf of Whyteleafe Village Council and our residents.

  21. Commissioned festive lighting in central Whyteleafe (x20 illuminated motifs).

  22. Year round hanging baskets (x27)

  23. Participating in the SCC ‘Treescapes Scheme’, planting new trees in Whyteleafe.

  24. Creation of a Resilience Plan to help protect people, property and places.

  25. New benches for bus stops on Whyteleafe Hill (x2).

  26. More litter bins in Whyteleafe Recreation Ground and bus stop

  27. Running litter picks to clear litter ‘hot spots’

  28. Resilience planning to protect residents during floods, blizzards, storms, and bio-hazards.

  29. Exploring Future Provision of youth open access recreation with neighbouring parishes.

  30. Funded and collaborated to deliver The Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations village party

  31. Another exciting Whyteleafe Community Event for King's Coronation.

  32. Secured Christmas Hampers for local families in need.

  33. Funded seven large green planters to enhance appearance of railway stations.

  34. Created Jubilee Orchard of seven trees to mark Platinum Jubilee.

  35. Planted new Whitebeam tree and renamed Jubilee Garden.

  36. Funded plants to brighten up the village in various locations.

  37. Provided grant funding to the Citizens Advice Bureau and various other local charities.

  38. Provided funding for Reigate Art College for an art project in Whyteleafe.

  39. Supported Whyteleafe Community Hub and various other local voluntary groups to enhance the village.

  40. Funded planting of 5000 Daffodil bulbs by the Whyteleafe Gardening Group to brighten our village in early spring.

  41. Created a positive environment to encourage  motivated teams of local volunteers who work hard to deliver benefits, support and enhancements right across our community.

  42. Yes our residents are empowered and Whyteleafe is looking up.
